Writing inspiration #6 – write like no one is watching
I love that saying ‘dance like no one is watching.’ It’s a philosophy that I carry through to my writing. Because, no one is watching and I only have to share what I wish to share and that has been edited. The inspiration for the quote comes from William W Purkey.
“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
Take inspiration from this, turn off your monkey chatter and enjoy the process.
It’s funny, because although I’ve said edit like someone has a gun to your head, the truth is editing often proves to be the part of writing a book that provides me with the most pleasure. In the editing phase it’s about perfecting your first draft, having fun looking for better ways to explain things. Getting even more clarity. And what’s not to love about completing a project?
